Captain Services Rules & Regulations

Captain services are at your own risk. Captain Nick Meyer—DBA / Meyer Custom, LLC Services and staff are not responsible for personal injury or loss of property. Participation in boating activities may be dangerous. Nick Meyer reserves the right to deny service without a refund.

The person hiring a captain must be 18 years or older, and a parent or legal guardian must allow minor participation.

Maximum capacity—Your vessel's maximum capacity is determined by its manufacturer and displayed on it.

Florida law requires children 6 years of age and under to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) on vessels less than 26' while the vessel is in motion. All other occupants must also have PFDs in their possession. Type 1 PFDs are not required but recommended.

Wearing life vests at all times helps reduce the risk of drowning.

Alligators & sharks can be dangerous! Avoid close encounters with alligators & sharks. Do not feed wildlife.

Alcoholic beverages are permitted and must follow state consumption laws and drinking ages.

Pets—Please confirm with the captain if you plan on bringing a pet on board your vessel. It is your vessel, and we are pet-friendly; however, some captains may have allergies or certain conditions may not be safe for pets.

Swimming is allowed at your own risk.

Vessel should generally return to port in the event of thunder or lightning.

Please make sure you have sunblock. (aerosol sprays can damage your boat; lotion is recommended)

DO NOT litter our waterways, including cigarettes. No exceptions.

The boat owner is required to pay for all damages to their vessel and lost equipment.

Equipment brought by the captain and Crew are the property of our Crew and we expect to receive all equipment back upon completion of trip. This includes fishing gear and tackle.

Upon returning the boat to the marina or boat ramp launch area, the captain remains in control of the vessel until the vessel is secured at the port or on the trailer.

All bookings must be completed at the agreed time.

Illegal contraband is not permitted on board any of our vessels.

If the captain feels any guest is too intoxicated, we reserve the right to end services immediately for everyone's safety.

Alcohol-induced vomiting is immediate grounds for termination of service, and we will return to port without a refund.

Safety onboard vessels is our number one priority. The captain reserves the right to terminate services unequivocally.

If your insurance requires a Captain survey and copy of MMC, please allow 48 business hours for completion.

Fuel is at the boat owner's expense, and we have zero responsibility for fuel cost.

Port charges, marina charges and expenses, fines, licensing, and all other costs of operation of your vessel are the sole responsibility of you, the boat owner.

Cleaning of your vessel is not my responsibility.

Gratuity is not included in the cost. Gratuity is not required; however, the captain appreciates it.
